Heavy Duty Equipment Diesel Mechanic

Summary

• Empire State Mines is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill the role of HDE Diesel Mechanic at its specialized zinc and graphite mines. Located within 2-hour drive of The Thousand Islands, Lake Ontario shoreline, the Adirondack Mountains and world class skiing at Lake Placid. Explore Canada with Montreal and Ottawa only 2-3 hours away.

Responsibilities

• Work with all crews sitewide to support continued production. Tasks could be, but not limited to
• Maintain, diagnose and repair a variety of mobile underground equipment including diesel engines, transmissions, drive train components, high pressure pumps, centrifugal pumps, air compressors, microprocessor controls, electro-mechanical equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, 12/24v electrical systems, equipment cabs and controls, chassis and suspension, rims, tires and wheels
• Perform PMs including scheduled hour services, changing fluids, filters, inspections, and other component checks
• Perform welding and fabrication duties (frame repairs, brackets, body work, etc.
• Complete required maintenance reports and logs

Must Have:- Minimum 3 years of heavy-duty diesel earth moving equipment maintenance experience.

• Experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty mobile underground equipment and diesel engines.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions to perform work safely.

• Onsite / Hybrid / Remote: Onsite
• Compensation range and bonus eligibility: $30–$35/hour base pay, depending on experience and skills. No bonus specified.
• Job grade, reporting context, or other screening-relevant logistics:- Support production by working with all site crews.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), scheduled services, inspections, fluid and filter changes.
• Maintain equipment maintenance reports and logs.
• Position requires the ability to perform safety-sensitive work without posing a direct threat to self or others.
