Production Manager

Recruiter Note Client feedback indicates they are ideally seeking candidates with Food and/or Beverage manufacturing experience. The search is open to candidates across the Northeast, and relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

This role will lead manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals while fostering team development and driving continuous improvement across all production processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily manufacturing processes to meet or exceed safety, quality, productivity, cost, and team performance targets.
• Use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure performance and drive process improvements.
• Apply the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) model to analyze root causes and implement lasting solutions when goals are not met. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput, eliminate waste, and improve scheduling and efficiency.
• Supervise, coach, and develop manufacturing team members to ensure consistent performance and engagement.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality requirements, including GMPs, SOPs, OSHA, and FDA standards.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and employee involvement across all operations.
• Oversee material availability, product quality, and on-time delivery through effective resource allocation.
• Facilitate daily and weekly operational reviews to ensure alignment with short- and long-term production goals.
• Support new product launches in collaboration with business and production teams.
• Lead workforce planning and training programs to build flexibility and ensure succession readiness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information The client would like us to focus heavily on candidates with Food & Beverage manufacturing experience. They emphasized that food and/or beverage manufacturing experience is a must. Backgrounds in supplements, nutraceuticals, biotech, and biopharma are not considered as strong of a fit for what they are seeking.

MUST HAVES

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience in food or beverage manufacturing with a strong understanding of food safety regulations and production processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business management, or food science required.
• Previous experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, employee involvement, and change management initiatives and processes.
